Independent Living Services

 

Consumer’s who are appropriate for our independent living program are:

  • Individuals who are transitioning from their parents or group home and into their own independent living situation.  The living arrangement may be in their own apartment or a roommate situation.

  • Individuals who have a desire to live on their own, or those who are already living independently, but require additional functional skills training necessary to secure a self-sustaining independent living arrangement in the community.

Independent living skills will include, but not limited to:

  • Budgeting and money management

  • Meal planning & preparation

  • Cooking

  • Purchasing Skills Training

  • Management & Maintenance of Household

  • Health & Hygiene

  • Medical/ Dental Resources

  • Mobility Training

  • Self Care

  • Social Recreation & Self-Advocacy Skill enhancement

 

OTHER SERVICES

SDNH co-partners with other agencies in the community to provide its clients with specific services required by each individual client. Our agency coordinates group Sessions and individual Access to these services through Various agencies within the community.
