Shine the Spotlight!

Life goals are something that people set themselves and work hard to achieve. These goals could be something you personally want to achieve in your career, such as working your way up in a company or to end up at a well paid job that you are happy in. Travis I., a Tailored Day Client is the perfect example of a person who never gave up on what he wanted. Travis first started working with the Tailored day program by submitting applications to many different employers of his own choice. After days, weeks, and months of employers not answering his applications, Travis was finally able to get an interview. Wait a minute, not one INTERVIEW, in fact TWO INTERVIEWS for two different jobs on the same day! Travis practiced with his TDSO facilitator, different interview questions until he could answer them confidently. Travis went to both interviews and did great; he was able to get hired at both the San Diego County Fair and the San Diego Regional Center. Travis was hired for the summer at the San Diego County Fair for the passport to savings booth. This job was more of a social and sales position, therefore, Travis knew he needed to improve his communications skills and money skills in order to succeed in that job position. Travis met with his facilitator every week to practice his money skills and social skills and he was able to successfully complete his summer job. After finishing this job, Travis had one week of break and then began his job at the San Diego Regional Center. According to Travis, it is a dream of his to have a full time job at a office, and now he has it. During his training week, Travis stated he would come home exhausted and that the job was getting harder. Travis was offered to have a job coach with him during his work shift, however, Travis was confident of himself to be able to succeed independently. Once Travis was finished with his training, his supervisors saw his hard work and dedication to the job and informed him they would like to keep him on. Creel Industries would like to congratulate Travis for such a great effort and dedication to his goals. Travis, thank you very much for all your hard work, we are very thankful and proud of you for all you have accomplished!
